Let’s talk skin ageing… The skin is like a mattress; our collagen in the skin is like the padding and the elastin is like the springs. When the mattress matures, the springs start to sag and that’s when the padding becomes crumpled and is no longer smooth. Our skin responds in a similar way to this analogy with ageing. When skin ages it becomes less plump and smooth due to collagen depletion. This is when we begin to develop wrinkles meaning the elastin is losing it’s bounce. We have two separate anti-ageing programs because as we age, our cell cycle starts to slow down, meaning, while we are younger it is changing over within a month. Once we’re over the age of 40 our cycle can slow right down to two months, we need to have longer between skin needling to make sure we’re working on different skin cells each time.
